Jolie davis

Founder of Manawa Ora and lead practitioner/kaimirimiri. Of Te Rarawa and Ngāti Kurī descent, Jolie is a traditionally-trained practitioner of mirimiri and romiromi, educator and advocate of Rongoā Māori with 25 years experience. She is a panel member on the Rongoā Māori advisory Board and also a trained nurse.

Chrissy Kan

Chrissy is of Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairoa and Ngāi Tūhoe descent. She is passionate about health, wellbeing and selfcare with over 20 years experience working in health and fitness; sports massage, yoga and crossfit. Chrissy loves to see our whānau empowered and thriving physically, mentally and emotionally.

Roland Schaap

Born and raised in the Netherlands, with Dutch and Belgium ancestry. Roland has called Aotearoa his home for over 11 years. He comes from a career working as a scientist. Roland is also a yoga teacher and a student of many different embodiment practices. He loves being a part of a team advocating and supporting wellbeing for whānau and community.

Muia perez

With nine years of experience, Muia, is of Tokelauan and Samoan descent. She is passionate about reconnecting Pasifika communities to traditional healing and has been instrumental in making Rongoā Māori accessible to Pasifika whānau and communities. Her commitment to sharing cultural traditions strengthens our team and connects us all. Muia is also a trained chef.

marty clamp

Marty is a descendant of Ngāti Toa Rangatira and is closely connected to the local Porirua community. Marty is a busy business owner but he also loves to be a part of the Manawa Ora team and help whānau in need as much as he can. We all appreciate his experience, humour and down-to-earth approach to everything he does.

moushmi fa’amate

Moushmi is Samoan and Fiji-Indian, previously worked in Education, advocating for Pasifika students and communities. Moushmi is a māmā of 2 tamariki. She is one of the welcoming faces who will greet and manaaki you into the Manawa Ora whare.

genna te kahika

Genna hails from Ngāti Kahungunu, Tūhoe and Rongomaiwahine. Genna has a background in Early Childhood Education. Genna first came to Manawa Ora through ACC after suffering extensive injuries from a car accident in 2022. She is one of our greatest success stories and loves to share her story and aroha with everyone.

Jules pereira

With six years of experience, Jules is one of our senior practitioners at Manawa Ora. She is of Tokelauan descent who initially trained as a massage therapist before finding mirimiri. Her experience, warmth and compassion for all people enriches our team and enhances the care we provide to our community.

Jemma Jeffs

With three years of mirimiri experience, Jemma brings her wairua skills as a full-time yoga teacher to our team. Jem is one of our senior practitioners at Manawa Ora. She is also a trained hairdresser, and the person that keeps everyone looking fresh and vibrant! Jemma’s empathy and compassion for all people bridges age, race and gender.

waimarino te ratana

As our newest intern at Manawa Ora, Waimarino carries a deep connection to her whakapapa, tracing back to Papa Joe (Tōhunga Ahurewa - Te Whānau a Apanui). Waimarino is also of Tuhoe, Kahungunu, Te Whakatōhea, and Ngapuhi descent. She enriches our whare with her exceptional guitar/waiata skills. Waimarino's eye for detail and dedication to the kaupapa make her a wonderful addition to our team.

sharna-lee haimona

Of Ngapuhi, Ngāti Pōrou, Ngāti Kōnohi and Tūhoe descent. Mother of 3 and grandmother of 2, Sharna-Lee is a Wairua Practitioner and registered Social Worker and has 7 years experience working with Sexual Violence. Sharna is well-known and loved for her high energy and fun-loving personality!

theresa Obeda

Of Tokelauan and Cook Island descent, Theresa is the newest member at Manawa Ora. She has quickly adapted and fosters warm, authentic connections with each whaiora she treats. A registered nurse, she previously worked in the dialysis unit at Kenepuru Hospital, Porirua

 

Linette Bradbrook

Linette descends from Ngāti Toa Rangatira and Ngāti Porou and currently resides in the Wairarapa. She believes everyone has the capacity to take responsibility for their own physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing and she loves to empower others to reclaim wellbeing for themselves and their whānau. Linette’s nurturing but no-nonsense approach is appreciated by many!
