The Manawa Ora Mirimiri open clinic days are held over one day for the local community to access Mirimiri and Romiromi; traditional Māori healing (Rongoā Māori).

At these clinic days our team of practitioners including tauira (students) work to provide a safe and healing environment where people can both experience - and learn about - Mirimiri and Romiromi.

Manawa Ora holds regular Community Clinic Days in Porirua (Whitireia Polytech) and Lower Hutt (Kokiri Marae, Wainuiomata Marae and Walter Nash Centre). We have also held Clinic days in Wellington, Victoria University, Rotorua, Omahu Marae (Hastings), Ohakune, Palmerston North, Blenheim, Nelson, Hokitika, Queenstown, Invercargill, Dunedin, Christchurch, Kaikoura and Melbourne.

Community Clinic Days are not just about promoting wellbeing and wellness for all people, we also work hard to promote the effectiveness of traditional Māori healing practices (as more than just an ‘alternative’ to mainstream healthcare) and to make Rongoā Māori, Mirimiri and Romiromi accessible to whānau and visible in the wider community.

Bookings are required. (Please go to the booking button at the bottom of this page). We often have people working on tables and on the floor, so please let us know if you have trouble getting up and down of the floor or any discomfort lying facedown.

On completion of your treatment you will be asked to fill out an evaluation form. The information is used to build a contact list for future events and to gather feedback re: results, benefits and effectiveness of mirimiri and romiromi.

Parliament Clinic Day

Manawa Ora has been invited into Parliament to provide mirimiri for MPs, ministers and staff.

To our knowledge, this is the first time Mirimiri and Romiromi has ever been offered in Parliament.
